Pal, confidant, friend, someone you can lean on, an ear to your voiced concerns, a shoulder for your tears, someone who really cares, a buddy. And that’s what I am; here and elsewhere, and I don’t take it lightly.
Being a buddy is more about being there, being present for your buddies, your pals, your family, your coworkers, your friends, your neighbors, what have you.
Yes, sometimes you drop what you’re doing to help someone out because they mean that much to you, and hopefully they return the gesture when the time comes, but that’s not why you do it. You do what you know in your heart is right, and as a buddy you have a responsibility to do this. This is the definition of buddy-hood. You defend your buddy to the very end, stand by him/her through thick and thin. You share tears of joy and sorrow, laughter, and silence just feeling the moment together when needed.
Think about your buddy/buddies today. Who are they and why do they hold this title, this privileged piece of your heart? Thank them for being just that, a true buddy!
